Government funded dementia care in Wollongong
Are you looking for dementia support services in Wollongong, subsidised by the government? Dementia Caring is a registered Home Care Package and NDIS provider. If you have been approved for a Home Care Package, we can deliver your government-funded services and help you build a package that best suits your needs.
Below are some common questions you may have about dementia care:
How much does in home dementia care in Wollongong cost?
If you are 65 years and older, you may be eligible to receive government-funded dementia home care from the government (otherwise known as a Home Care Package).
This means that the government will subsidise some of your fees, to make the service much more affordable for you. They pay your provider directly; you may be asked to make a contribution by paying a basic daily fee, an means-tested care fee (this is based on how much income you have), and any additional fees charged by your care provider.
Keep in mind that you do not necessarily have to pay all these fees, as it depends on your financial situation.
The first step in finding out if you are able to receive government funded home care is by applying for an assessment through My Aged Care. You can do this on the phone by calling 1800 200 422 or online, through the My Aged Care website. You can also nominate a family or friend to be your representative, if preferred.
If you would like assistance or English please give us a call on 1300 792 691 for guidance. We’re more than happy to help!

Do you provide respite care?
Yes we do. If you or your loved one needs a break from their caring responsibilities – perhaps to go on holidays, attend an appointment or work – we can step in and provide high quality care, whether it’s for a couple of hours, a whole day, overnight or even a couple of days.
Our carers are highly qualified, experienced and committed to providing empathetic dementia-specific care, so you can rest assured that your loved one is in good hands.
Are your dementia care services flexible?
You should have control and choice over your care. We base our support around our customer’s needs, and adapt our services whenever needed. This means we come at a time that suits you, match you with a carer you get along with, talk to you about the type of support you need, and continually work with you to ensure you are well supported at home. There really is no ‘one size fits all’, as every person is different, and requires different care.
Do you provide care in other locations around Australia?
