Can your carers come at a time that suits me?

What levels of dementia support do you provide?
Do you provide care in other locations?

Can your carers come at a time that suits me?

We believe dementia care at home should be suited to each person’s schedule. Our team is flexible and provide carers at a time that suits you, so you can have control over your day. Once you decide to partner with us, we’ll work out a schedule that you’re happy with.

We also match you with the same carer rather than a roster of different people, so you have an opportunity to build trust and develop a relationship with your care team. To discuss your specific needs or situation, please get in touch for a free consultation – we’re more than happy to help.

What specialist dementia therapies do you provide?

Specialist dementia therapies help those living with the disease enjoy quality of life, engage with others and remain independent for longer. Based on the latest research, we offer the following types of therapies as part of our dementia home care services:

  • Music and memory therapy – music stimulates the mind and the senses, connecting people to past memories. Research shows music therapy helps individuals feel happier and more social, reducing their reliance on mediation. Dementia Caring is officially accredited to provide music and memory therapy to its customers.
  • Reminiscence therapy – this positive and engaging activity uses music, photos, sights and sounds to reach memories that live in the functional parts of the brain. We help to enhance memory for those living with dementia, and enable them to meaningfully connect with both the past and present.
  • Storytelling therapy – A storytelling book is a visual diary, similar to a family photo album. During this therapy, we create a memory box where we place all items from the past and present as prompts to tell a story and create our own album. Creating the book can provide a sense of pleasure and improve self-esteem.
  • Sensory therapy – our therapist uses specialised techniques and Montessori products designed for people with dementia. This is tailored to the interests and ability of each person, and aims to improve their confidence and independence.

Validation therapy – this therapy recognises that it is more beneficial to enter a person’s reality, rather than trying to force them into our reality. This type of validation creates security, empathy, compassion and trust, builds self-esteem and reduces anxiety for families who have lost the ability to communicate with their loved ones.

What levels of dementia support do you provide?

We provide specialist dementia care at all levels – from those who just need a helping hand with the housework, to high level support for people at the end stage of dementia.

We are also flexible and can adjust our services to suit your changing needs as dementia progresses.

Dementia Caring is a registered Home Care Package provider. If you are eligible for a package, you are able to receive government-funded support with us. You will be approved for one of four different levels, depending on your needs:

  • Level 1 – basic care needs
