Respite Care

Respite care provides support for family and loved ones caring for someone living with dementia. When you work with us, you’ll have peace of mind from knowing your loved one is being cared for by our specialist Dementia Care Team.

As a carer it’s often easy to forget to take care of yourself, but taking time out on a regular basis is essential for your own physical and mental well-being.

Regardless of whether you’re looking for a short break or a long holiday, Dementia Caring is there for you. Our Respite Care services are available for as little as one hour through to a 24 hour live in home care plan.

Many of our clients have found it useful to use regular respite services early in the care arrangement, so that everyone can get used to a shared dementia caring environment.

Take a Short Break

Many families and carers living with someone who has dementia find it best to start with short breaks and extend the time frame gradually. This enables everyone involved to gain confidence about the experience. It may also be beneficial for you to spend some time with your carer prior to the respite break to build a relationship and increase your loved one’s familiarity with them.

When planning to use respite, discuss with our Dementia Caring respite team the types of care that are available so we can show you which will suit you the best.
